Rauchenstein is a hard rock powerhouse currently based out of Chapel Hill, NC . Rauchenstein seeks to infuse heavy guitar rock reminiscent of the 80's/90's while delivering songs with a modern hard hitting Rock N' Roll edge. Rauchenstein maintains their own signature sound while drawing from their many influences which include Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, AC / DC, The Cult, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Ozzy, Judas Priest and a host of other Rock/Metal bands

Behind every great band, is a great story. . . . Rauchenstein shares some striking similarities to with Boston in that Rauchenstein was originally powered as a one man band.  The music you hear has been created and recorded by Paul Sperling.  Upon finding the national stage, Paul had to assemble a band around him for live gigs.  Rauchenstein soon became fronted by Paul's brother, Rayan James.  The late Brandon Shaw picked up the four string and also contributed some amazing song writing that meshed with Rauchenstein's style.  Paul and Brandon were best friends, so it was truly a match made in heaven.  One of the driving forces behind Rauchenstein's sound is heavy, layered, rich guitar.  Rauchenstein added Ben Tassiello to the line-up to ensure live productions were every bit as good as what you hear on the recordings.  Ben is a long-time friend and out of this world axe man.  His contributions extended well beyond guitar as he has a wealth of experience in music production and live experience.  The final addition to the band was Dave Constable.  Dave's heavy hands and feet found a natural place within Rauchenstein, ensuring audiences would feel the pounding rhythm they were accustomed to on the recordings.  The family dynamic continued, as Dave is Paul's brother-in-law!

Rauchenstein emerged late in 2012 and found instant recognition from fans and the music industry. Rauchenstein won a National Battle of the Bands competition sponsored by Guitar Center and was a featured act on Slash and The Conspirators Apocalyptic Love Tour. Rauchenstein has been recognized by ReverbNation as a premier global Rock Band. Rauchenstein has been described as "Black Sabbath Undercover," "A Rock Powerhouse," and "Mind Blowing." Rauchenstein continues redefine the modern Rock Genre; winning over fans, song after song, from all around the globe. 

Rauchenstein has secured airplay on more than 160 Rock/Metal stations globally and has a fan base approaching almost 62,000 fans across social media sites (Facebook, ReverbNation, Twitter, and MySpace).
